Oregon Equestrian Trails – $10,000
Sisters Trail Additions and Realignments, New Trail Construction by OET
The short term objective is to provide additional equestrian riding opportunities out of Sisters Cow Camp and Whispering Pines campground. OET’s highest priority is to bring the existing “User trails” up to Forest Service standards. An additional 18 miles of safe trails will be brought into usage.
Central Oregon Trail Alliance – $9,000
Skid Steer Equipment Upgrades.
The skid steer helps build new and maintain trails throughout central Oregon. COTA has service agreements with public land managers to steward nearly 600 miles of singletrack trails, 5 bike
parks, and 9 miles of groomed winter fat bike trails. This work benefits the communities of Bend, La Pine, Madras, Prineville, Redmond, Sisters, and Sunriver.
Dirty Freehub – $2,060
New Tools
This project will equip staff and volunteers with essential safety gear, trail maintenance tools, medical supplies, and battery-powered equipment to improve field readiness and response capability.
Sisters Trail Alliance – $7,780
Sisters Trails Alliance STAR Trail Building & Maintenance Tools
Led by STA, these trails, which will be constructed over the next several years, include hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails, and are the first major trail expansion in the Sisters Ranger District in over 15 years. The STAR project includes trail actions on 19 existing and proposed trails to meet the need for unique recreational experiences, trail connectivity, restoration or abandonment of fire damaged trails, additions of existing routes to the official Forest Service trail system, and/or realignment of system trails.
Friends of the Central Cascades Wilderness – $1,160
Additional Trail Tools to Increase Trail Crew Capacity
FCCW will purchase additional tools and increase the number of open spots on our weekend trail crews. Additional tools will help FCCW grow their trail crew size and ultimately allow them to do more work out in the wilderness.
